International Conference and School on Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion(ICPPCF-2020), will follow the previous International Conferences, which were held in Alushta in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and in Kharkiv in 2014, 2016, 2018. They were organized by the National Science Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology”, Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of the National Academy of Sciences and V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. More than 140 participants presented about 190 reports during previous ICPPCF-2018 Conference.

This Conference is organized by:

National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

National Science Center
“Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology”

N.N. Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University

Dear colleagues,

Unfortunately, the development of events with coronavirus is dramatic and almost unpredictable. Taking into account current COVID-19 pandemic, nobody can predict what will be the situation in September 2020. At the same time, our priority is the safety and well-being of all the conference participants. It is also difficult to expect full recovering of the international travels and mobility till the autumn.

Therefore the Organizing Committee has decided to postpone the Conference for next years. Thank you very much for understanding.

However, the ICPPCF-2020 format as Conference-School combines both scientific and educational components. LOC has believed in keeping the educational component of this event. It is closely connected with start of educational year in Ukraine. Educational activity requires less number of participants involved and it could be realized in the form of several topical lectures for PhD and master students on different aspects of plasma physics and fusion, supplemented with training of students using available experimental facilities.

Lectures are going to be organized on September 8. Experimental training sessions in stellarator and PSI devices of the NSC KIPT will be organized on September 9 and September 10 for PhD and Master students participating in this event. Training will include participation in plasma experiments on Uragan-2M and QSPA-M, introduction to plasma diagnostics and measurement techniques. Interested students should send their contact details, short CVs with indication of affiliation, preferable topics of interest for training session (stellarator or QSPA devices, emphasize on plasma or material studies etc.). Deadline for registration is August, 1. There is no registration fee for the training. Participants are fully responsible for their accommodation and meals as well as for travel expenses related to this event.
