ACTIVATED DIFFUSITION SATURATION IN
VACUUM
The technologies and equipment for depositing multi-functional
sheetings on basis of silicides, borides, carbides, nitrides and
oxides of various metals, and also combined protective layers are
developed in NSC KIPT. The coatings can be applied toon products from
refractory metals and alloys, graphite and carbon - carbon composite
materials, alloyed and notalloyed steels, cast irons and heat
resisting alloys.
The method is characterized by opportunity of coatings reception for
various
PURPOSES:
- anticorrosive, proof for aggressive gases (oxygen, water
steam, products of burning etc.);
- chemically proof (in alkaline and acid environments);
- resisting for metal melting (for example Al, Cu);
- heat-resisting (up to 2000oC);
- strengthening (the hardness of the tool raises 2-10 time);
- antifrictional (coefficient of friction: 0,02... 0,07);
- antireflecting;
- antiemissive etc.
ADVANTAGES OF THE METHOD
Introduction of dosed quantity of activators (on a
basis galogeneds of metals) and (or) liquid phase of environments)
in a vacuum working zone is the difference of the method from widely
known diffusitive methods. This provides the method with the following
advantages:
- opportunity of reception of clean surfaces;
- high speed of formation of coatings - 10... 100 mcm/hour;
- temperature of saturation can be reduced for 300oó
in comparison with the not-activated saturation
(800oC...1300oC);
- opportunity of reception of coatings by thickness up to 1000
microns;
- high uniformity of coating thickness on difficult
configuration products, including on the products having a
groove or latent cavities;
- high diffusitive durability of adhesion of coatings with a
substrate (at a level of the basic metal durability);
- ecological cleanliness and wasteless manufacture.
The following works can be executed by the NSC KIPT experts:
- drawing coatings on skilled and serial sets of products with
the sizes corresponding to cilinders with diameter 330 mm and length
600 mm;
- development of technology, designing and manufacturing of
the technological equipment with start it at the enterprise of
the customer and training of the personnel;
- warranty service and repair of the equipment.
