CONTACTS INVESTIGATIONS RESULTS PUBLICATIONS

Laboratory was founded in 1967 in the department of vacuum metallurgy. Candidate of physics and mathematics A.I.Somov was the first head of the laboratory. From the 1988 laboratory is headed by candidate of physics and mathematics M.A.Tikhonovskiy.

The main problems of the laboratory from the beginning of its foundation were  the developments of methods of production, investigation of structure and properties of composition materials. Results of these investigations were generalized in monograph "Eutectic composites" and in reviews [1, 2]. In 1974 activity of the laboratory was directed on the development of new methods of production of technical superconductors and improvement of the existing technology of their production  [2, 3]

Now laboratory investigates physical processes of formation of nanocrystalline, nanocomposite and monocrystalline structures in specific alloys on the base of pure metals; their physical-mechanical properties are studied, principles and methods of production of materials with designed microstructure and improved operational characteristics for their use in reactor engineering, electrical technique, gaseous turbines engineering and medicine.
