Alushta-2008
3-rd Alushta International Workshop on the Role of Electric Fields in Plasma Confinement in Stellarators and Tokamaks

Alushta (Crimea), Ukraine, September 22-27, 2008

Preliminary Announcement

The International Conference and School on Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, combined with Workshop on the Role of Electric Fields in Plasma Confinement in Stellarators and Tokamaks, will be held on September 22-27, 2008 in the Black seaside resort in Crimea (Alushta region), Ukraine. This Conference/Workshop will be devoted to the 90-th anniversary of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine and 80-th anniversary of the National Science Center “Kharkov Institute of Physics and technology”. They will follow the previous International Conferences and Workshops, which were held in Alushta in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and were organized by the National Science Center “Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology”. More than 100 Ukrainian scientists and 70 foreign participants (from 13 countries) presented about 250 reports during Alushta-2006 Conference.

Workshop program:

1. Role of electric fields in transitions to improved confinement in Stellarators and Tokamaks
2. Edge plasma turbulent processes and geodesic acoustic mode oscillations
3. Methods of plasma potential diagnostics.

The official Workshop language is English.
