Instruction for Paper Preparation for journal “Problems of Atomic Science and Technology”:

 

The text must be prepared (preferably) in Microsoft Word (any version) for Windows

(in exception case - in PDF format).

• Paper size (with abstracts) should not exceed three journal pages (five pages for Invited Lecture);

• Page size – 210x297 (A4);

• Margins – 20 mm all margins;

• Line Spacing – single;

• Fonts – Times New Roman and Symbol (this allies also to the equations);

• The title, authors names, institutions and abstract should be placed at the beginning of the file in a single column format, center alignment

• The title is set in boldface capital using 14pt Times New Roman;

• The author’s names and institutions are set in italic 12 pt Times New Roman;

• According to Journal rules all papers should have abstracts (preferably 50-100 words) in three languages: English, Russian and Ukrainian. The text of English abstract should be placed before the text of paper in a single column format, using 10 pt Times New Roman general typeset. Russian and Ukrainian abstracts with title and author’s names accordingly on both languages should be placed at the end of paper in the same format.

Notes for the foreign participants: translation of abstract into Russian and Ukrainian will be made according to English abstract by the members of editing group. The authors should take this requirement into account since it will have an effect on the size of paper.

• Classification numbers according to the PACS should be given (For Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme see http://www.aip.org/pacs.html) and set in 12 pt Times New Roman after English abstract;

• The main text of paper should be in two column format: the column width – 82.5 mm, the separation – 5 mm; there should be no page numbers;

    • Sectioning is based on two levels. Section headings are centered, boldface uppercase 11 pt Times New Roman. Subsection heading are centered, boldface 10 pt Times New Roman;

• Text, tables, figure captions and equations are 10 pt Times New Roman and Symbol;

Tables’ captions should be set above the tables, figures’ captions - under the figures in italic typeset, center alignment; all captions in figures and tables must be clear and readable;

It’s allowed to align figures and tables of large size in one column;

• References are made in the text with Arabic numerals in square brackets in the order of their first appearance; the list of references should be listed and numbered at the end of paper in l0pt or 8 pt Times New Roman and must observe the following style:

 For journal articles: X.Y. Author(s). Title of article// Title of the journal. Series “Subject” (Volume). Year of publication, Number in series, page.

 For books: X.Y. Author(s). Title of the book. Place of publication : ”Publisher”, year of publication.

 For collections of contributions (proceedings): X.Y. Author(s).Title of contribution//Title of collection (including place and data of conference etc.)./Publisher, place, year of publication, pagination.

• Illustrations (only black and white or gray) must be prepared only using the subprograms of the MS Word and be saved in document. If authors use others programs (Excel, Corel Draw), they must save illustrations in document as a Word picture;

• Photographs must be scanned with resolution up to 300 dpi and inserted as a picture.
